Carolyn
Carolyn grew up with a very creative mother who always had an art project on hand to encourage the boundless imaginations of her young children. Between the finger painting and potato prints, there was often construction paper hanging around the house to dry. But after these mini masterpieces were complete, where did they go? Some were stashed away in a box in the attic, others made their way to the trash bin. Carolyn came across the same conundrum as her mother did years ago: “What do I do with all the artwork my children are bringing home from classes and preschool?” She couldn’t bear to bin a single piece, but New York apartments certainly don’t come with endless storage either! And so began the quest to solve this timeless problem. Not long after, Plum Print was born. Carolyn lives in Manhattan with her husband and two daughters. Meg
Long before easels were fixtures in kids’ playrooms, Meg’s father built one just her size out of a few pieces of plywood. It never sat quite straight, but that added to the creativity of her early works of art. Meg’s mother was one of Plum Print’s first customers. When she saw the initial sample books she immediately disappeared into her basement to dig out the dusty boxes filled with 30-year-old drawings, paintings, collages, and more. Meg herself is now the mother of a 5-year-old daughter who needs her boxes of crayons and packages of markers (especially the pink) replenished all too often. It was the overflowing art drawer in Meg’s Brooklyn kitchen that helped give rise to the formation of Plum Print. Contact Meg at meg@plumprint.com
